How much does a burial insurance policy cost?
Your final expense insurance policy premiums are determined by several factors. These factors include your age, your sex, your current health, your health history, your family’s health history, and your location. The type of policy you select as well as the death benefit payout you desire will also affect your premium price. If you smoke, drink regularly, or have a history of heart disease in your family, you will pay higher insurance premiums than someone who doesn’t smoke, drink, or have heart disease history. If you have no current health issues, or if you are toward the younger end of the burial insurance age bracket (usually 50 to 85), you will be able to obtain lower premiums. Most insurance companies do not offer burial insurance to individuals over age 85. If you are nearing this age, you can expect to pay higher premiums.
How long does a burial insurance policy last?
Final expense, funeral, and burial insurance policies last until the policyholder’s death. After the policyholder passes away, the beneficiary will receive a cash payment for the amount of the policy. Burial insurance policies do not expire. They may only be cancelled in the event of insurance company fraud. However, they may also be voided in the event of the policyholder refusing to pay premiums (but you won’t get any refund of the premiums already paid).
