Government Personnel Mutual Life Insurance Company, or GPM Life for short, has been doing business for over 80 years. The firm caters to military personnel and their families. GPM offers a whole life final expense plan that may be used for burial and funeral-related expenses. There is no medical exam required for qualification. Policies are available for individuals aged 50 to 85. Death benefit payouts range from $3,000 to $35,000.
How much does a burial insurance policy cost?
The price you pay for burial or funeral insurance will vary based on a number of different factors. These factors include your age, your sex, your current location, your health history, your family’s health history, and your location. Prices will also vary based on what sort of policy you select, how much of a death benefit you desire, etc. As an example, if you are a smoker or you have a history of heart disease in your family, you will pay higher premiums than someone who does not smoke or does not have a history of heart disease. On the other hand, if you’re younger than the average burial insurance applicant (typically between the ages of 50 and 75), you will probably pay lower premiums. You will also pay lower premiums if you are in good health for your age group. Most insurance companies don’t offer final expense insurance to individuals over the age of 85. For some, the cutoff is 80. If you are close to these ages, you may be able to purchase insurance but you will pay higher premiums.
How long does a burial insurance policy last?
Burial insurance policies and final expense insurance policies do not expire. Upon the death of the policyholder, the beneficiary will receive a lump-sum cash payment for the amount specified in the policy. Burial insurance and final expense insurance policies may only be cancelled in the event of insurance company fraud or the refusal of the policyholder to pay the required premiums.
