Fidelity Life

Fidelity Life has been assisting Americans with insurance needs since 1896. The company offers a final expense (burial) insurance package called RAPIDecision. This plan may be used to cover end-of-life medical costs, burial costs, credit card debt, or other costs at the discretion of the beneficiary. RAPIDecision is a permanent whole life policy, with death benefits ranging from $5,000 to $35,000. In order to sign up, you’ll need to answer various health-related questions on Fidelity’s application, though you are not required to undergo a medical exam.

The company says that its final expense policy will cover individuals with some health issues, but that it is not intended for those with serious health risks or limited life expectancy. Fidelity’s final expense coverage features premiums and coverage amounts that are guaranteed for life.

Can I cancel a burial insurance policy?

Once you’ve purchased burial or final expense insurance, the only way to cancel the insurance is to stop paying your premiums. If you opt to stop paying your premiums, the policy will be voided by the insurance company and you will not be able to seek a refund of premiums that you have already paid. You may cancel your premiums if the policy is found to be fraudulent.

Will a funeral home accept payment with burial insurance?

Burial insurance and final expense policies normally pay their benefits in cash. As such, there are no restrictions, limitations, or rules on what the cash may be used to purchase.

Can I obtain burial insurance even though I have health issues?

Burial and final expense insurance is designed to assist individuals with non-terminal illnesses. It is easier to obtain burial insurance than it is to obtain life insurance, both because of the intentions of the different types of policies and because burial insurance typically offers lower benefit payouts. There are some terminal health issues that may prevent you from obtaining burial insurance, so you should check with several companies to determine which ones meet your needs and which offer the best premium rates.

Most insurance companies do not require burial insurance applicants to undergo medical exams or health screenings, though most do require applicants to fill out a health-related questionnaire.
